Many thanks for your review of Trees Shaun. It's very professional, fair and comprehensive. TBH drums are something I seldom give too much thought to, perhaps I should!? I had taken my eye/ear off the percussion because I never intended it as being a major part, to remain in the background. However, if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right, and I'm glad of your feedback. I'll have a critical listen and repair as necessary.
I would be interested to know what you think about the piano bridge (at about 02.30), some want it out, some want it in. It's really a hangover of a vocal using the same melody where I needed a different character, designed to be different. I've put an example without the bridge on my Bjam songs if you have time to listen. Both work, both have pros and cons, would love your take on it?
Cheers,
Bob

Well for what it's worth my friend, the "newest" trimmed version is just splendid, makes much more musical "sense" to me, and what I imagined actually--all listening the first time before the cut on my phone speaker! You are very close IMO...

Hey, I'm delighted to see your name come into my email! I'm happy to see in your news that you're getting placements. Many thanks for your listening enjoyment of "Ride the Wave" and "Raindrop Soul." Coming from you, that is indeed a compliment! "Raindrop Soul" is very much a special song to me and one I consider the most beautiful I've written. Shifting gears now, are you familiar with Arden Snow? He has a great neo-psychedelic rock song, "The Gypsy King" that is terrific ear candy as well. Definitely give it a listen if you haven't yet. Thanks again and always a pleasure to touch base with you! John

Hi Chet, thanks for reaching out and of course! It was a catchy tune. I will check out Ticking Stars and let you know what I think. You would probably really dig the newest song I just uploaded called More Than Most. It's currently an instrumental but I am in the process of writing lyrics and doing the vocals. Thanks again and take care, Arden.

Hi Mrs. Kate,

Thank you so much. That's awesome! If you don't mind me asking how did you come across the article? And to answer your question no, not yet. To be honest that was the high point of being on that site so far but I also have to go in and add more variations of each song which I plan on doing here shortly. So hopefully that helps. Thanks again. Oh and I saw you put a new song up. I'll check it out momentarily. Thanks for reaching out.

I'm thinking if you have a place to shop this OTHER than here, it is a perfect track for a film bed of some kind--I'd have an instrumental only as such to shop...which I'm sure you already have LOL. It's such a dynamic and creative piece of work!

Thanks alot Warren. I have it on a couple other sites. Tbh This site is more keeping connections. After 2 songs selected to where I've never even received a follow up let alone a contract I've put my efforts elsewhere. But I feel like that's an area I could always learn more on. Thanks again.

Arden thank you for the short but sweet review of an old tune recorded initially in 1998 but recently re-recorded in 2020 and finally finished with the recording of it just a couple of weeks ago. Still need to mix/master it but it is finally nearing completion. I am very happy that you liked the rough mix of it.
Thanks again Arden

Hey Arden thanks so much for the positive and helpful review of "Gothic Blue" I never quite know where my music belongs I quess it is kind of hard to categorize. haha I would be happy to take you up on your offer to mix and master it however right now I'm shopping for a pro singer to take care of the vocal problems. Once that is taken care of I'll message you and well set something up. Again thanks for the review very refreshing. Scott

not a bad idea at all, and your work is very cinematic/background potential for stuff they brag about having! I hope you do well there but it took me a coupla years to make what I do now, but now it's steady. i make it with them by them spewing a few vocals all over the internet...se la vee! beer money...

Hi Frank,

Of course! Happy to help and i appreciate you saying you will check out my music. My personal favorites are Prelude, Broken Bones, Cure & Calypso.

Checked out a coupled of your faves... very cool stuff. Both are very well done, textural soundtrack type pieces... I see Bones as a soundtrack piece myself. The style on these two takes me back to my days of listening/exploring Fripp & Eno and other experimental/progressive (at that time) music. Cool stuff indeed!

Hi, Arden. Your name is not appearing when I go to the mail and select friends which tells me Broadjam's code has screwed up again. Check your private email. Anyway, a review of your latest, which all sound incredible!

I can definitely hear the improvements! Especially with the clarity of them. I'm really curious to know what the important steps were that you employed.

"Prelude" is clear, sweeping, I can hear the subtle echo voices. Keyboards are just beautiful.

"The Crowd"...your vocals are PERFECT. Just the right clarity and volume. Guitars are placed perfectly with the right volume and emphasis. As with all your selections, you have GREAT melodies and lyrics blend into them bringing out the mood the lyrics convey.

"Reap What You Sow"...the uncomfortably tense effect is terrific...really clear. Vocals are much better as I think they sound much less like rap and take on a more imposing raspy feel. The only thing I can think of may be a very slightly less reverb on them ONLY if it is a very easy change. If it works...

"Cure" I love this track! Still curious about the steps you took. Sounds perfect.

"Forced to Run" is beautifully mixed and mastered, too. Your echoes are great. All instruments have perfectly emphasized and placed.

John
